High-Tech Gloves for High Demands
Ideal tactile sensitivity, perfect instrument guidance – and all this combined with optimal protection against infection, skin friendliness and maximum wearing comfort: In operating theatres or where examinations are concerned – particularly on orthopaedic, traumatology, plastic surgery, ophthalmology and neurosurgery wards – medical gloves have to meet the most stringent demands on quality.
Get optimum grip on surgery with Sempermed Supreme+
A perfect surgical glove must never be slippery. At the same time, instruments must not cling to it, so, ulitmately, it all depends on the golden middle. With its textured, micro-roughened surface the new surgical Sempermed Supreme+ glove, manufactured by Sempermed, guarantees excellent grip. This is the result of many years of development work on Sempermed Supreme, which is now Germany’s top-selling powder-free surgical glove! Its fully anatomical shape, its special web-like lining structure and its optimised wall thickness provide for good tactile sensitivity and secure instrument handling.
The new lining also guarantees that gloves are easily donned and taken off – a feature that is anything but insignificant! Studies have shown that 10-45% of surgical gloves, depending on their individual application area, have perforations . About half of the perforations occur as early as during the first 30 minutes of an operation . This is clearly a safety risk, which is why during operations with a high risk of infection professionals use two pairs of gloves at the same time and, during longer operations, change their gloves regularly: Suitable as an inner glove is the tried and tested slightly less slip-proof Sempermed Supreme, and worn on top of it – as an exterior glove – the new Sempermed Supreme+.
Wearing comfort even without latex with Sempermed Syntegra IR
All Sempermed gloves are produced as skin-friendly as possible. Skin-irritating substances as well as the protein content of natural latex are reduced to a minimum by a post-treatment method that involves a multiple washing process. However: In medical care areas, where the staff wear gloves throughout their entire working day, about one in five may have issues, reactions or be allergic to latex. These are the figures presented by the German Latex Allergy Information Association (www.laiv.de). The result: hay-fever-like reactions such as a runny nose, itchy and swollen eyes and sneezing, and there may even be asthma-like symptoms such as tightness in the chest, wheezing, coughing or shortness of breath. The skin usually reacts with painful eczema that may also impair the sense of touch. In such cases, Sempermed Syntegra IR offers the perfect solution for the operating theatre: powder-free and latex-free, made of synthetic polyisoprene (IR), Sempermed has optimally copied the properties of natural latex. The gloves are also highly elastic, tear-resistant and stable, without irritating the skin.
Sensitive & elastic – the latex-free examination glove
Sempercare Nitrile
Also where examination gloves are required, safety and wearing comfort are high priority. The solution: a nitrile glove with wearing properties similar to those of latex – easy to distinguish from latex gloves thanks to the blue colour. Sempercare Nitrile is powder-free and now even softer and more elastic. The synthetic glove’s good fit and sensitivity with textured fingertips guarantee optimal and comfortable performance, even in moist conditions and for longer periods.
